Tiny aliens, big adventures

 In Nature & wildlife

PocKit Robot launched with support from Blackdown Hills National Landscape.

Aimed at children aged 3–8 (and their families), this independent series was developed by Somerset-based Hyper-Mouse Films, a family-run animation and film studio. With infectious enthusiasm and a fresh perspective, the PocKit Robots discover the magic of Earth’s landscapes – from towering trees to sparkling streams – as if seeing them for the very first time.

The Blackdown Hills National Landscape is proud to have supported this project through the Farming in Protected Landscapes programme. Filmed in and inspired by the stunning scenery of the Blackdown Hills, the series showcases the richness and beauty of our local environment, helping to foster a deeper connection between children and nature.

The series launched over the summer 2025 and has already achieved thousands of views, rising to almost a thousand views per day within a month of their release.

The first episode, A Trip Up A Tree, was released on 16 August, with three more episodes following since then: Sparkling StreamFantastic Fungus, and Hello Hello Hedgerow. All episodes are freely available to watch at www.pockit.life and on YouTube. You can also find them on this website with our other children’s videos.

But it’s not your typical kids’ show. PocKit Robot: Nature Adventures stars two tiny (but infinite!) aliens, disguised as a toy robot, who chance upon Earth and decide to stay – truly blown away by all the life and wonders they find here – after a millennia of feeling meh about the gas, ice, dust and rock the rest of the universe has to offer.

With a little help from their new human friend, Kasey, they discover more and more exciting natural life, in the unique Blackdown Hills National Landscape of South West England.

In addition to the videos, the PocKit Life website offers a free nature club newsletter and resource hub, packed with activities, downloads, and deeper dives into themes like regeneration, biodiversity, and how helping nature helps us too.

We encourage everyone to tune in, share with friends and family, and explore the wonders of nature through the joyful lens of the PocKit Robots. It’s a perfect way to inspire the next generation of nature lovers – and it’s all completely free.

Time to set off on your PocKit adventure!
