Community Engagement Ranger

In this role you will be the day-to-day point of contact for existing volunteers and will be co-ordinating the volunteering opportunities offered through the teams and their partners. You will be responsible for organising tasks in consultation with other members of the AONB teams as well as developing ways to promote volunteering.

You will be working with other staff and partner projects to plan and deliver engagement activities for local communities and underrepresented groups increasing participation and access to the protected landscapes.

The role will involve office activities such as contacting volunteers, writing reports or meeting with project partners. There will be a significant element of outdoor working across both the Quantock Hills and Blackdown Hills as well as neighbouring areas, such as the urban centres of Taunton and Bridgwater.

£19,698 to £21,748 per annum

Project administrator (Farming in Protected Landscapes)

An exciting opportunity to be part of a small team delivering the Farming in Protected Landscapes programme in the Blackdown Hills AONB.

The aim of the role is to ensure the smooth running of administration of the Farming in Protected Landscapes programme on behalf of the Blackdown Hills AONB.

The role will include:

  • Carrying out financial management
  • Completing relevant monitoring and reporting
  • Setting up and supporting the Farming in Protected Landscapes local assessment panel
  • Arranging meetings; training, events and workshops
  • Taking minutes at local assessment panel meetings, maintaining filing systems and assembling reports
  • Inspecting and making grant offers
  • Agreements and payments
  • Presentation of reports
  • Ensuring programme deliverables are met
  • Sharing any learning with the wider programme core working group and other protected landscape organisations.
