Tick tips

The best line of defence is to avoid getting bitten. Cover your skin when you’re out in the countryside. Ticks live in grass and low-growing foliage, so tucking long trousers into your socks is a great way to keep them at bay! On returning home check yourself, your children and dogs for ticks. If you are unlucky enough to find one, remove it as quickly and carefully with tweezers or a tick removal tool. Be aware of the signs of Lyme disease, such as a red, ring-shaped rash and flu-like symptoms and consult your doctor if you have any concerns.
