The Blackdown Hills AONB extends from steep, wooded ridges in the north, across a high plateau to rolling farmland in the south.
Sites throughout the Blackdown Hills, from iron-age hill forts to second world war airfields, provide a glimpse into the area’s rich history. Varied habitats provide great opportunities for nature and wildlife spotting, while charming villages offer a warm welcome to visitors.
The Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty certainly lives up to its name – it is an outstandingly beautiful place to visit.
