Delving deeper into the River Culm

In Connecting the Culm, Farming & land management, Nature & wildlife

Storyteller Clare Viner will be leading us on adventures each week as she co-creates some stories with the river, land and people who live, work, and play in and around the Culm. Exploring how we use the river and legends from the area, and weaving inspiration from her adventures, Clare’s stories aim to reimagine how we can live in harmony with the river into the future whilst still benefitting from its many gifts.

At last we have started to be able to get out and about to meet with people face-to-face! We’ll be attending a variety of events, shows and workshops through the summer and into the autumn as part of our Festival of the Culm. The first of these was Mid Devon Show on 24 July.

If you’re interested in finding out some facts and figures about the River Culm, the Connecting the Culm library brings all the scientific outputs, reports, data and evidence that relate to the River Culm, the Connecting the Culm blueprint and Devon rivers more widely, as well as some digital stories from the Culm and beyond.

We are always working hard to ensure that we share the latest knowledge and gather the latest input from stakeholders and communities in the Culm catchment. You may have been to one of our events, joined a working group, volunteered through one of our monitoring initiatives, or sent us an email. We are currently conducting some short surveys and we’d love you to share your thoughts and tell us about how things are going so far.
