Traces of iron working lie buried in the fields and woodlands of the Blackdown Hills

Archaeologists are starting to piece together the evidence, although we still have much to uncover. Here you can find out about the dig which took place at Churchinford in 2014 as part of the Blackdowns Metal Makers project, and examine the findings of other archaeological work in the area.
