Event Navigation
Join Taunton Dean Ramblers on this five-mile, moderate walk with some hills. The walk will set off from Staple Hill, the highest point in the Blackdown Hills and explore Staple Park Wood, both part of the Forestry England’s woodlands.
Parking can be limited, depending on how many people turn up on the day.
Walkers are requested to bring their own refreshments like drinks and any snacks.
The walk will be on fields, tracks, bridleways and quiet country lanes, often with stiles and inclines. Good walking boots are typically expected to be worn.
The walks are aimed at those who are used to walking, though are led at a pace suitable for the group. There is a general guidance of two miles per hour, but this can naturally vary, and hence some walks may not be suitable for everyone.
People can come along to three walks before they might like to join the Ramblers, but we don’t turn anyone away!
