Join us for a presentation and follow-up discussion with Dr Antony Firth of Fjordr Ltd into the history of the river and recent research.  Antony gave a short overview of the subject at our Discover the Culm event in October and is back by popular demand to give a more detailed picture of his team’s work. Knowing about the river’s history helps us understand the character of the River Culm today and plan for its future. Fjordr Ltd. have been funded by Historic England to work alongside the Collecting the Culm project to map places where the watercourse has been used or changed by people across the centuries. This presentation will outline the sources they have been using, the methods they have developed to map and record historic features, and why this might be relevant to addressing the issues facing the river in future.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions and we also look forward to hearing information you might have about the history of the River Culm.
