Local experimental archaeologists, living historians and craftspeople are coming together to tell the story of the Blackdown Hills National Landscape with a truly unique and immersive dive into ten thousand years of our archaeological story.
Over two days we’ll be welcoming the public to experience our long distant past with a celebration of the crafts that shaped our early human-legacy. Come join a guided tour through time as we explore the forgotten skills of our hunter-gatherer ancestors, the magic of the Bronze Age and the crafts of the Anglo Saxons. Learn the ancient skills to knap a flint arrowhead in our Mesolithic encampment, watch as rock is turned to molten bronze with our team of prehistoric experts, or meet the inhabitants of our pop-up Saxon village.
There’ll be opportunities to create your own clay pot, have a go at archery, try your hand at making prehistoric jewellery along with a whole host of other crafts!
10am to 4pm daily
