Working together for the future health of our rivers

Blackdown Hills AONB has teamed up with the East Devon Catchment Partnership to host a conference on the river catchments of the Axe (including Yarty), Otter, Culm and Clyst.

The Catchment Communities conference to be held near Honiton will bring together community representatives, land owners and managers, along with practitioners from the East Devon Catchment Partnership.

There will be talks and workshops on natural flood management, the water industry, species recovery, habitats, community engagement, leisure and tourism.

It will provide an opportunity for delegates to:

  • Learn about collaborative projects already underway to tackle issues like flood prevention and water quality
  • Share experiences and success stories
  • Talk to decision makers about the issues that affect local communities
  • Help develop fresh approaches and come up with ideas for collaborative projects
  • Forge alliances for the future.

Keynote speaker: Neil Parish MP
Complimentary lunch and refreshments provided.

Following the conference there will be an optional hour-long tour taking in part of the 80-acre grounds and River Otter at Deer Park Country House Hotel.

The conference is sponsored by:

  • Blackdown Hills AONB Partnership
  • East Devon Catchment Partnership
  • Deer Park Country House Hotel
  • South West Water
