Come along and join us for an Archaeological Finds Day at Chardstock Community Hall on Saturday 7 September,from 10 am to 12:30 pm.

Bring along artefacts to be identified by finds specialist Dr. Naomi Payne. Drop in to learn about archaeology in the Blackdown Hills. Handle historic artefacts and test your knowledge with our archaeological finds quiz.

Join Alex Farnell from Avalon Planning & Heritage for tips on researching your local historic landscape using the Historic Environment Record and the Devon Environment Viewer.

Free family crafts and activities:

  • Have a go at a mini archaeological excavation.
  • Try your hand at weaving or craft an Iron Age roundhouse.
  • Make a clay coil pot to take home.

Refreshments available:
Chardstock Eco Group will be serving teas, coffees, and tasty treats for a donation.
